In 2007, Dave saw sustainability re-shaping the basic economic sectors of the “Maslow hierarchy of needs” and creating economic advantage. Climate change was driving a rethinking of asset risk and value. In 2008, Equilibrium was founded to be a global leader in sustainability-driven asset management for institutional investors to deliver sustainable alpha and intentional positive impact for society and environment.
Judy Mares
Senior Advisor, USSIF, and President, Mares Financial Consulting, Inc. @USSIF
Judy Mares served as Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Department of Labor’s Employee Benefit Security Administration from October 2013 until January 2017. She joined EBSA after retiring from an extensive corporate career. She was the Chief Investment Officer of Alliant Techsystems, Inc., where she managed the investments of the pension, savings, and VEBA plans (a total of $4.2 billion in assets). She also served as the CIO of Ameritech Corporation and the Director of Benefit Finance at General Mills. Mares is currently the President of Mares Financial Consulting LLC. Mares serves on the Executive Committee of the Employee Benefits Research Institute and Betterment’s Board of Advisors.
Emily Steinbarth
Senior Quantitative Research Analyst @Russell Investments
Emily Steinbarth is a senior quantitative research analyst at Russell Investments on the Portfolio Solutions team focusing on the research and development of the firm’s in-house equity strategies. In this role, Emily is involved in the continual development of global quantitative equity portfolios with a focus on ESG and low carbon strategies. Most recently, these projects have involved leading the research to convert Russell Investments’ existing low carbon strategies to an enhancement, Decarbonisation 2.0, as well as building proprietary company-level ESG scores. Emily is a member of the ESG Knowledge Specialists (EKS) team at Russell Investments. Emily joined Russell Investments in January 2016.
